JUNIOR FREEDIVING

The objectives of this course are to acquire water safety competence and skills, develop acquaticity as familiarity interacting with water and develop specific qualities and skills that will help the alumni to become competent freedivers in the future as young adults.
Parents or guardian will be part of this course understanding the safety rules and the post-course supervision requirements. Post-course supervision is one of the major aspects of child`s safety.

KNOWLEDGE OBJECTIVES
– Underwater swimming equipment
– Recovery breathing
– The two methods of diving: pulling the rope and finning
– Water pressure and equalization
– Buoyancy
– Marine environment
– Water safety rules

PARENT`S/GUARDIAN`S KNOWLEDGE OBJECTIVES
– Water safety rules
– Ways to impose the rules peacefully
– Rules of supervision

PREREQUISITES
– The child`s own wish and intent to take a course in freediving
– Being at least 8 years of age (two age groups 8 – 11 y.o. and 12 – 15 y.o.)
– A completed AIDA medical form
– A complete AIDA liability release form
– Being able to swim 50 m non-stop with mask and snorkel
– Being able to swim non-stop slowly for 3 minutes.
– Being able to treat water, sculling or floating, for 2 minutes
